Online Safety
Children at Boxford CEVCP School use the Internet on a regular basis as part of their learning. In school, we have regular 'e-safety' activities to remind children of the importance of keeping themselves safe online.
You can download and read our school's online safety policy on our Policies page
At home, sometimes children can be given unsupervised access to the Internet. This, potentially, allows them to access all kinds of society (both good and bad) and bring them virtually into their homes.
Here are some useful tips and links to help you to keep your children safe online:
We would encourage parents to set up filtering on their home internet. To learn how to do this for the major providers of internet please click the text below.
Setting up internet filtering and parental controls
We also suggest parents visit the website link below for up to date information on Facebook privacy settings, as whilst we know that no children under the age of 13 should be on Facebook, if they are then they should be educated as to how to ensure they are safe. They do not offer the same levels of protection as Skoodle, allowing children to communicate with anyone.

Keep your computer in a shared area - Talk to your child about what they are doing online and, if possible, set up your computer in a shared area at home so that you can all share in the wonderful sites that are available online.
Download our e-safety Posters:
- We have these e-safety posters on display in our classrooms along with many others made by the children. Why not put one up next to the computer at home and talk about it with your children?
In school, children learn about E-Safety through a scheme of lessons along with assemblies and workshops with parents.
Our children know to report any inappropriate content, contact or conduct they encounter online to CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) by visiting the safeguarding page and clicking our report button below.
CEOP also has a great website of information on E-Safety for parents. Please click the link below to visit the page.
